Basketball Game Preview: Eastgate Life Academy vs. Friendship Christian Spartans

Eastgate Life Academy is 6-1 against Friendship Christian since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Eastgate Life Academy are taking a road trip to square off against the Friendship Christian Spartans at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Eastgate Life Academy easily dispatched Varsity Opponent two weeks ago, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Eastgate Life Academy fell just short of North Georgia Christian Academy by a score of 62-60 on Thursday.

Despite their loss, Eastgate Life Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nate Harbins, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards, was perhaps the best of all. The game was Harbins' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Mayfield, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Friendship Christian waltzed into their matchup on Monday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They walked away with a 55-44 win over the Eagles. The 55-point effort marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Friendship Christian's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Eastgate Life Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Eastgate Life Academy might still be hurting after the 71-50 loss they got from Friendship Christian in their previous matchup back in November. Can Eastgate Life Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
