It was a good run, but the Franklin Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. Their rough 82-58 defeat to Brookville might stick with them for a while. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Franklin still got an impressive performance from Kai Cook, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. Cook has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last ten times he's played. Jason Sroufe was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Jace Wood, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds for Brookville. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wood has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominick King, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Brookville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will square off against the Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Edgewood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 258th). As for Brookville, they will head out on the road to take on the Lumberjacks at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
