The Twiggs County Cobras's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 42-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hancock Central. Twiggs County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hancock Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hancock Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Key'Nya Scott, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaliyah Hargrove, who scored eight points.
Twiggs County dropped their record down to 1-17 with that loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.3 points per game. As for Hancock Central, their victory ended a 15-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-13.
Twiggs County will head out on the road to square off against Glascock County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hancock Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Georgia Military College at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Georgia Military College focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 34 on Tuesday.
