The AGBU Titans lost against the Pilibos Eagles last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. AGBU fell to the Eagles 58-52. While losing is never fun, AGBU can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 650th, while the Eagles are ranked 120th).
It was another big night for Antranik Balian, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds for Pilibos. Balian is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Honanian, who scored 11 points.
AGBU has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season. As for Pilibos, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-7.
AGBU does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pilibos won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Armens at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Holy Martyrs Armenian is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
