Richard Winn Academy was sadly handed a defeat on Thursday, but Owen Martin did his best to prevent it. Martin was dialed in as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Considering he played a big game the last time he faced off against Northside Christian Academy back in March of 2024, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock. Martin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Martin and Richard Winn Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Wardlaw Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Richard Winn Academy has been dominating at home and they will enter the contest having won seven straight home games dating back to last season.
