The East Wake Warriors will challenge the Franklinton Red Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Franklinton took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on East Wake, who comes in off a win.
East Wake barely beat Fike the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors blew past the Demons 17-4 on Tuesday. Considering the Warriors have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Madison Keith was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Keith was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alissa Flood, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two triples. That's the most triples she has posted since back in April of 2024. Jaimee Fowler was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and two RBI.
East Wake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fike only posted an OBP of .345.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Franklinton's offense. They lost 8-0 to Southern Nash on Tuesday. The Red Rams haven't had much luck with the Firebirds recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Franklinton's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for East Wake, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. East Wake has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .461. However, it's not like Franklinton struggles in that department as they've averaged .434. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
