The Edgemont Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a hard 45-28 fall against Ardsley. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Edgemont in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.
Iva Corluka continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ardsley, scoring six points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Elise O'brien, who scored ten points.
Edgemont dropped their record down to 3-12 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Ardsley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edgemont will take on the Pelicans at 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Pelham Memorial presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in New York (the Pelicans are ranked 187th, while the Panthers are ranked 592nd). As for Ardsley, they will head out on the road to challenge the Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
