The North Sevier Wolves are taking a road trip to face off against the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, North Sevier turned things around against North Summit on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Braves. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wolves needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Hunter Lund made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Jensen, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for North Sevier: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Rylan Frischknecht, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
North Sevier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Summit only posted an OBP of .333.
Gunnison Valley came out on top against North Sevier on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Bulldogs never let the Wolves get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.
Daxton Knudsen was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Porter Comin was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
The win (which was Gunnison Valley's third in a row) raised their record to 15-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for North Sevier, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 6-13.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. North Sevier has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Gunnison Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
North Sevier might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Gunnison Valley when the teams last played on Tuesday. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
