There's no place like home for the Sunnyside Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against Sanger West on Monday as Sunnyside made off with a 72-47 win. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Sunnyside has managed all season.
Malachi Barnes was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cj Jones, who scored 15 points.
Sunnyside has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Sanger West, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.
Sunnyside won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Madera South at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Madera South will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1134th, while Sunnyside is ranked 269th). Sanger West won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hoover at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hoover has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 760 points over their last ten matchups.
