Somerset is 7-2 against Chestnut Ridge since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles will challenge the Lions at 4:30 p.m. Somerset is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Garrett Reese looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Cole Lucas was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Callen Miller, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Chestnut Ridge's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against Bishop McCort, falling 16-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lions have suffered since April 17th.
Tyler Yatta was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.
Somerset pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. As for Chestnut Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
Chestnut Ridge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Somerset has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .483. It's a different story for Chestnut Ridge, though, as they've only averaged .353. Will they be able to contain Somerset's hitters?
Somerset took their victory against Chestnut Ridge when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
