Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Cypress Creek

Cypress Creek came tearing into Wednesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Lake Buena Vista Vipers 11-3. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Britney Freitez was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaris Lozada, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Cypress Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive games.

Cypress Creek pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Lake Buena Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.

Looking ahead, Cypress Creek will take on Tohopekaliga at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. Lake Buena Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
