On Wednesday, Linsly faced Wheeling Central Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Linsly Cadets were dealt a 92-56 loss at the hands of the Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights. One positive for the Cadets, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Wheeling Central Catholic to victory were Seneca Heller and Kaitlyn Blake. Heller dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 assists, while Blake dropped a double-double on 29 points and 12 boards. The game was Blake's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Payton, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 16 points.

Linsly is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. As for Wheeling Central Catholic, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Linsly wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-45 defeat against Fort Frye on the 14th. As for Wheeling Central Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-61 win against Wyoming East on the 14th.
