The Borger Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight loss. They were beaten by Pampa 71-41. While losing is never fun, Borger can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1394th, while Pampa is ranked 260th).
Tahqulin Brooks and Braylon Contreras certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Brooks dropped a double-double on 17 points and 20 rebounds, while Contreras scored ten points along with four steals. The matchup was Brooks' tenth in a row with at least ten points.
Borger's loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-15. As for Pampa, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Borger will take on Dumas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pampa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Canyon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Canyon is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
