American Heritage has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the Atlantic Christian Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. American Heritage will be strutting in after a victory while Atlantic Christian will be coming in after a defeat.
American Heritage posted their biggest win since November 20, 2023 on Wednesday. They blew past West Boca Raton 72-51. Given American Heritage's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while West Boca Raton is ranked 419th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
American Heritage found their leader in underclassman Xander Gerard, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Gerard, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Atlantic Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Jupiter Christian by a score of 52-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Atlantic Christian has suffered yet this season.
American Heritage's victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for Atlantic Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-3.
American Heritage won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2021, slipping by Atlantic Christian 52-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for American Heritage since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
