Shawnee Mission Christian walked away with a 35-23 win over Blue Ridge Christian. The victory was just what Shawnee Mission Christian needed coming off of a 40-15 defeat in their prior contest.
Among those leading the charge was Emily Kleczka, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Shawnee Mission Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Jeydan Umberger, who scored two points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Faith Christian Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Thursday as they fell 38-34 to Christ Prep Academy. Faith Christian Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Shawnee Mission Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Faith Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Shawnee Mission Christian came up short against Faith Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January, falling 33-25. Can Shawnee Mission Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
