Basketball Recap: Halifax Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Harrells Christian Academy, Halifax Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They secured a 61-57 W over the Faith Christian Patriots. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Halifax Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Thad Harris, who posted 17 points along with eight assists and three steals. The dominant performance gave Harris a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Anderson, who went 6 for 11 en route to 15 points and eight boards.

Faith Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was NOAH MAYO, who earned 23 points. MATT PRIDGEN was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Halifax Academy's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for Faith Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Kerr-Vance Academy the next time they take the court. Faith Christian will head out to face Kerr-Vance Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Halifax Academy will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
