6A District 4 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Edmond Santa Fe extended the longest winning streak in 6A District 4 this week by beating Edmond Memorial, 55-6. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Southmoore took down Choctaw 63-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tre Edwards threw for 175 yards and one touchdown and ran for six yards in the win.
Casey Henninger was the best wideout in the league this week as the Yellowjackets fell to the SaberCats. Henninger racked up two receptions for 76 yards. Jake Rapp helped Choctaw's passing attack out by catching two balls for 31 yards.
Reginald Dantzler Jr. was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 108 yards as Southmoore fell to Southmoore. Jace Williams also contributed to the rushing game with 26 yards on the ground.
Jeff Brickman's team's Edwards and Jalen Adams have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 6A District 4 in both passing and receiving yards. Edwards has thrown for 1753 yards this season, while Adams, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 28 catches for 638 yards. Imond Robinson from Norman leads the league in rushing with 981 yards.
The Tigers' Robinson is a mere 19 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Wolverines take on Norman. As it stands, Lawton is in fifth, while Greg Nation's team is in second.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Randy Breeze's team takes on the Tigers. The Wolverines have allowed 173 points this season, while Norman has given up 186. Lawton allowed 37 points last week as it lost to Mustang.
Putnam City West made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,459 from 9,885. The improvement was the result of 50-7 victory over the Patriots last week.
