The Skyline Eagles had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 57-50 win over East on Tuesday. The win was just what Skyline needed coming off of a 78-47 loss in their prior game.
Skyline found their leader in underclassman Trenton Wells, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Bierman, who scored nine points.
Despite the loss, East still got an impressive performance from Cooper Dodd, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Dodd's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Sutton, who scored 14 points.
Skyline's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Highland the next time they take the court. East will head out to face Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Skyline will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
