Mandeville is a perfect 4-0 against Lakeshore since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Mandeville is taking a road trip to take on Lakeshore at 5:00 p.m. Mandeville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
Mandeville came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-2 to Ponchatoula. The Skippers haven't had much luck with the Green Wave recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Mandeville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Marchese, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Grace Richard was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Lakeshore beat St. Scholastica 7-2 on Thursday.
Annabella Litolff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Aubrey Gaudet was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Julia Haddad, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.
Lakeshore has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. Mandeville's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mandeville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. However, it's not like Lakeshore struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mandeville took their victory against Lakeshore in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mandeville since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
