Basketball Recap: Zathan Ruffin and Brayden Collins Secure Win for North Valley Christian Academy

North Valley Christian Academy proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 53) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-42 win over the Fountain Hills Falcons.

Leading North Valley Christian Academy to victory were Brayden Collins and Zathan Ruffin. Collins went 6 for 10 on his way to 13 points, while Ruffin dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. That's the most boards Ruffin has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Rodriguez, who posted seven points and six assists.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lucas Grieco, who had 11 points and five rebounds. Ahren Lloyd was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds.

North Valley Christian Academy's record is now 2-0. As for Fountain Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

North Valley Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 72-48 defeat against Rancho Solano Prep on the 11th. As for Fountain Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 46-36 victory against Leading Edge Academy - GEC on the 12th.
