The Montgomery Cougars will challenge the Dunellen Destroyers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montgomery is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Montgomery is returning to their home field after beating North Plainfield on theirs, despite the fact North Plainfield has dominated at home this season. The Cougars blew past the Canucks 19-5 on Monday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Canucks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Nicolette Shackelford was incredible, going 2-for-5 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Ryane Riddell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Dunellen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Somerville, falling 21-2.
Mikayla Sheehan and Savanna McCann did some serious damage despite the final result: Sheehan went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI, while McCann went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Dunellen's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Montgomery, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Montgomery hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. However, it's not like Dunellen struggles in that department as they've averaged .428. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Montgomery got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Dunellen by a conclusive 17-4 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Destroyers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
