The McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets lost against the Saraland Spartans back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. McGill-Toolen was beaten by Saraland 70-27. McGill-Toolen has not had much luck with Saraland recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
McGill-Toolen's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Ladarien Miller, who rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Murchison, who threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Saraland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Dees, who picked up 151 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Santae McWilliams Jr., who rushed for 87 yards and three touchdowns.
McGill-Toolen has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Saraland, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
McGill-Toolen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Saraland will be playing in front of their home fans against McAdory at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McAdory will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Saraland is ranked second).
