The Ocean City Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 56-35 walloping at the hands of Red Bank Regional. While losing is never fun, Ocean City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while the Bucs are ranked 50th).
Ocean City lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Madelyn Adamson, who scored 12 points. Marley Ostrander was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Ocean City has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Red Bank Regional, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Ocean City will head out on the road to face off against the Warriors at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Red Bank Regional, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bees on February 4th. Bayonne is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
