Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Martinsville). They blew past the Chrisman Cardinals 72-37 on Thursday. The Bluestreaks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 23 points or more this season.

Chrisman's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dylan Lucas, who posted eight points and five boards, and Statler Mitchell, who had 11 points and six rebounds. Those five rebounds gave Lucas a new career-high.

Martinsville's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Chrisman, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Martinsville is taking a road trip to take on Brownstown/St. Elmo at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Brownstown/St. Elmo has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Chrisman, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 71-53 defeat against Milford on the 18th.
