This season hasn't been kind to the Luling Eagles, who are still winless after their ninth game. They took a 45-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of South San Antonio West on Tuesday. Luling lost against South San Antonio West in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 33-28 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Luling lost, one person who can't be blamed is Skylar Dredla. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds.
South San Antonio West was led to victory by Analisa Diaz-Deleon and Isaia Hinds. Diaz-Deleon scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds, while Hinds scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Angelina Coronado , who scored 3 points along with 9 rebounds.
Luling bumped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for South San Antonio West, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.
Luling will be playing at home against Prairie Lea at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Prairie Lea comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. South San Antonio West's road trip will continue as they head out to face Eagle Pass at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th.
