The Homestead Broncos's game last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 59-51 win over Keys Gate. Given Homestead's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Knights are ranked 583rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Homestead to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jeremiah Rodriguez, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Bragg, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Homestead has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Keys Gate, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Homestead will head out on the road to take on the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Killian has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7. Keys Gate will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Warriors on February 6th.
