The White Sox finished as the top team at the 2010 Area Code Games in Long Beach, Calif., and as a result they placed the most players on the All-Area Code Games Team.
The 15-member squad, selected by MaxPreps, features eight position players, five pitchers and two extra hitters. The White Sox, along with the Brewers White, topped most of the key stat categories at this year's event, according to the statistics provided by ESPN Rise and Iscore. The White Sox place four on the team while the Brewers White have three.
Pitcher - Henry Owens, Brewers Blue - Owens came out in the first game of the tournament and struck out six batters in two innings. He finished with a flawless ERA and allowed no runs in four innings with no hits, eight strikeouts and three walks.
Pitcher - Kevin Comer, Yankees - Comer pitched only one day, but went four innings and allowed just one earned run on one hit with nine strikeouts and four walks.
Pitcher - Toller Boardman, Rangers - Boardman went four innings and did not allow a run while giving up four hits with three strikeouts and no walks.
Pitcher - Patrick Hope, White Sox - One of six pitchers in the tournament with at least eight strikeouts, Hope struck out five in two innings against the Rangers and gave up one earned run in four innings. He gave up three hits and two walks as well.
Pitcher - Nick Piscotty, Nationals - Piscotty pitched three strong innings against the Brewers blue, tossing three scoreless innings with a strikeout, a hit and no walks. Piscotty finished with a perfect ERA, one hit and two strikeouts in four innings pitched.
Catcher - Austin Hedges, Brewers Blue - Hedges was the top-hitting catcher in the tournament with a .400 average that included two RBIs against the Brewers White.
First Base - Charles Sheffield III, Athletics - Sheffield hit .417 with a double and two RBIs. He also scored two runs while going 5-for-12.
Second Base - Johnny Eierman, White Sox - Among the tournament leaders in hits, Eierman was 6-for-13 with a triple and four RBIs while batting .462.
Third Base - Kavin Keyes, Reds - Keyes was second in the tournament with seven hits and was fifth in average (.500). He finished 7-for-14 with three runs scored, a double and five RBIs. he had three-RBI showing against the White Sox.
Shortstop - Dante Flores, Brewers White - Flores led the tournament with three doubles and was among the leaders in slugging percentage at .800. He hit .500 (5-for-10) with four runs scored and an RBI.
Outfield - Aaron Brown, Brewers White - Brown led the tournament in hits with eight while batting .533 (8-for-15) with five RBIs. he had four RBIs to go with a 4-for-4 effort against the Rangers.
Outfield - Billy Flamion, Brewers White - Flamion led the tournament in RBIs with six and batted .294 (5-for-17) with a double. He had two RBIs each against the Athletics, the Rangers and the Reds.
Outfield - Charles Tilson, White Sox - A general pain on the basepaths, Tilson led the tournament with seven stolen bases while batting 375 (3-for-8) with four runs, and two RBIs. He also had the only home run in the tournament.
Extra Hitter - Dylan Delso, White Sox - The tournament's top hitter, Delso hit .667 (6-for-9) with a double, a triple and four RBIs.
Extra Hitter - Clint Coulter, Nationals - Coulter salvaged his tournament with a 3-for-3 effort in the final game. He hit .571 (4-for-7) with a double and an RBI. He also had one of the top slugging percentages at .714.
