Three Rivers recap October 1, 2013
Nolan Sponseller of Tippecanoe Valley ran for the longest rushing play in Three Rivers this season against Wabash last week. Sponseller ran for 78 yards on the play and finished with 110 on the day as his team topped the Apaches.
Whitko added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Northfield, 34-20. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Wildcats.
Nathan Hollars provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Southwood beat North Miami. Hollars' favorite target this week was Jake Lloyd, who caught 2 passes for 23 yards.
Ben Shriver threw for 207 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was 9-14 with 0 interception.
Hollars was a beast in the backfield as the Knights topped the Warriors.
Hollars was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 220 yards on 22 carries as Southwood beat Wabash. Teammate John Berlier added to the ground attack by rushing for 16 yards.
Jeff Shriver's team's Shriver and Tanner Andrews have formed a dream team this season, leading Three Rivers in both passing and receiving yards. Shriver has thrown for 1,431 yards this season, while Andrews, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 30 catches for 671 yards. Hollars from Dave Snyder's team leads the league in rushing with 844 yards.
The Vikings' offense has racked up 223 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Rochester has allowed only 79 on the year.
