The Elmwood/Plum City Wolves will head out to take on the Boyceville Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elmwood/Plum City has given up an average of 9.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Elmwood/Plum City came out on top against Alma Center Lincoln on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run seventh inning. The Wolves took their game against the Hornets 16-11. The Wolves' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Britta Link made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Link was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brittany Bechel, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those hits were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Reese DeLong, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Boyceville came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Pepin/Alma. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by six runs or more this season.
Like Elmwood/Plum City, Boyceville also got a great game from a two-way player: Aubrey Malean. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Malean was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Boyceville let Brooklyn Talmage and Gretta Guy run wild. Talmage got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double and one RBI, while Guy went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Lain, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.
Elmwood/Plum City's victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. As for Boyceville, their record is now 6-1.
Elmwood/Plum City came up short against Boyceville in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 4-1. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
