The Hills Academy Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Cumberland Christian Academy patriot at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Even though Johnson Ferry Christian Academy scored an imposing 72 points on Tuesday, Hills Academy still came out on top. Hills Academy walked away with an 84-72 win over Johnson Ferry Christian Academy. Given Hills Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while Johnson Ferry Christian Academy is ranked 398th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hills Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Siar Francis, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 11 assists, and 11 steals. Those 11 assists set a new season-high mark for Francis. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Pugh, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds.
Cumberland Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on The Stonehaven School with a sharp 58-35 victory on Friday.
Hills Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Cumberland Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Hills Academy suffered a grim 70-50 defeat to Cumberland Christian Academy when the teams last played back in February. Can Hills Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
