Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop Grimes). They were the clear victors by  a  27-7 margin over the Bishop Ludden Gaelic Knights on Wednesday. While the Cobras didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
 Nella Ascioti made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances with two  RBI and one  run.
 In other batting news,  Rainbow Butler and  Myla Pankow did most of the damage at the plate:  Butler  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with six  RBI, four  runs,  and two  doubles, while  Pankow  went 4-for-5 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI. Pankow is  crushing it when it comes to  stolen bases: she's   snagged at least one every time she's  taken the field this season.  Liz Corl was another key player,  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances with four  runs and one  stolen base.
 Bishop Grimes  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  strikeout total in three consecutive  matchups.
Bishop Grimes' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Bishop Ludden, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Grimes will take on Tully at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for Bishop Ludden, they will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Cato-Meridian  at 4:30  p.m.
