The Jeffersonville Red Devils will take on the Corydon Central Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jeffersonville has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Jeffersonville managed to slip by DuPont Manual the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Red Devils lost 18-4 to the Crimsons on Wednesday. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ally Young was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Perissi, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Corydon Central entered their tilt with Providence on Wednesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They put the hurt on the Pioneers with a sharp 17-5 victory. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Corydon Central let Addyson Branham and Rease Jones run wild. Branham went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Jones went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Branham has posted since back in April of 2024. Meghan Logan was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Corydon Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in nine consecutive games.
Corydon Central's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Jeffersonville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Jeffersonville hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Corydon Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Jeffersonville skirted past Corydon Central 2-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
