The Century Centurions can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They blew past Joppa-Maple Grove 69-23 at home. With Century ahead 39-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Century's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Karleigh Jones led the charge by scoring 19 points along with two steals. Ashton Dillow was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Century is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Joppa-Maple Grove, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Century and Hardin County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The timing isn't great for Hardin County: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Century has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road. Joppa-Maple Grove will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th.
