Spring River Valley recap October 1, 2013
Jasper scaled the state rankings by moving to 169 from 214 this week, the biggest jump in Spring River Valley. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of topping Sarcoxie 22-14.
Jasper extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Bears, 22-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for Richie Adkins' team.
Tanner Paradies was the best wideout in the league this week as Diamond lost to Pierce City. Paradies racked up 8 receptions for 102 yards. Darren Russow helped Diamond's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 45 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Brodie Bien of the Wildcats is the league leader in passing yards this season with 692. He has also thrown 3 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Zack Hyde. The Pierce City star has 20 catches for 325 yards.
An important game coming up in Spring River Valley this week will be when Sarcoxie takes on Greenfield. As it stands, Luke Rader's team is in second, while the Wildcats are in fourth.
Lockwood led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Miller.
