Baseball Recap: Gladewater Victorious

Gladewater won against Arp last Tuesday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Bears came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 13-8. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Madaxx Vasquez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Preston Bohanon, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. That stolen base was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Flanagan, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Gladewater kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arp only managed six hits.

Gladewater's record now sits at 15-9. As for Arp, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-14-1.

Coincidentally, Gladewater and Arp will both be playing West Rusk the next time they take the field. The Tigers will host the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bears will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
