Baseball Recap: Cardinal Snags Ninth Victory in Last Ten Games

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Cardinal and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Comets blew past the Rockets 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Cardinal is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cardinal will challenge rival Knoxville at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont is set to take on their familiar foe Albia at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
