The Ocean Springs Greyhounds will take on the Brandon Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Ocean Springs 2.6, Brandon 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Ocean Springs is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past Northwest Rankin 6-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Cannon Hensarling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, AJ Arguello and Justin San Miguel did most of the damage at the plate: Arguello went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI, while San Miguel went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Arguello has posted since back in March. AJ Rossi was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Brandon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on St. Martin with a sharp 11-1 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Brandon also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Grady Smith gave up only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tre Adcox, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Graydon Walker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Brandon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .565. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Ocean Springs pushed their record up to 24-6-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Brandon, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-12 record this season.
Ocean Springs couldn't quite get it done against Brandon when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Will the Greyhounds have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
