It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Madisonville Mustangs can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Brahmas on the road and fell 67-0. The final score was a far cry from the score of their previous head-to-head, which saw the teams combine for 12 points.
Ty Williams threw for 72 yards on ten of 19 attempts. Lorenzo Johnson was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards. On the ground, Jeramiah Burns rushed for 27 yards.
DD Murray continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bellville, rushing for 167 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 carries. Murray hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Hranicky, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown.
Madisonville's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Bellville, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Madisonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bellville will be playing in front of their home fans against Silsbee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Silsbee is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
