The Miller County Pirates struggled with threes on Tuesday (the Early County Bobcats had five more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Miller County was dealt a 76-36 defeat at the hands of Early County. Miller County has not had much luck with Early County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Miller County still got an impressive performance from Jayden McCray, who scored 17 points. McCray has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dontravius Burr, who scored nine points.
Early County was led to victory by Jabril Lindsey and Javarrien Jones. Lindsey scored 17 points, while Jones scored 17 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Charles Williams was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Miller County's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Early County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Miller County will take on Mitchell County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Miller County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season. As for Early County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seminole County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Early County's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games.
