KIPP DC Legacy College Prep walked away with a 58-50 victory over SEED DC. The victory made it back-to-back wins for KIPP DC Legacy College Prep.
KIPP DC Legacy College Prep was led to victory by Messiah Gibson and Jeremiah Steele. Gibson scored 14 points, while Steele scored ten points along with five assists and four steals. That's the first time this season that Steele grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Marlon Calhoun, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
SEED DC's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Mercer, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wendell Allsbrook, who scored 12 points.
KIPP DC Legacy College Prep pushed their record up to 8-6 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for SEED DC, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
