Beaver had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They were given a punishing 0-70 loss at the hands of Merritt. If Beaver were expecting payback for the 19-39 loss against Merritt the last time the teams met, then they were shortchanged. This was the first contest for both squads, starting Beaver off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving Merritt a 1-0 record.
Next week, Beaver take on Stanton County at 7:00 PM. As for Merritt, they will face off against Hooker.
