Lake City is on a six-game streak of home losses, Lakewood a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Lake City Panthers will take on the Lakewood Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Lake City's game on Wednesday was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 71-57 bruising from Camden. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Lake City had strong showings from Blayne Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds, and Dallas Davis, who dropped a triple-double on 12 points, ten assists, and 11 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Edwards has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bryson Rose, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Lakewood was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 55-50 to Marlboro County.
Lake City has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Lakewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
