Valley Oak League recap November 19, 2013
Oakdale scaled the state rankings by moving to 261 from 304 this week, the biggest jump in Valley Oak League. The Mustangs were able to move up by besting Patterson 21-17.
Manteca added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Central Valley, 69-55. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Buffaloes.
Alex Laurel was a beast in the backfield as Manteca bested the Hawks.
Jake Pruitt threw for 453 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Hunter Johnson was the best wideout in the league this week as Sierra lost to Colfax. Johnson tallied 7 receptions for 195 yards. Lucas Widmer helped Sierra's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 157 yards.
The Timberwolves' Pruitt and Widmer have formed a dream team this season, leading Valley Oak League in both passing and receiving yards. Pruitt has thrown for 3,260 yards this season, while Widmer has 60 catches for 1,012 yards. Laurel from Eric Reis' team leads the league in rushing with 1,325 yards.
Oakdale and the Tigers played the closest game in the league this week, with Oakdale eventually emerging with a 21-17 victory.
