Bishop Dunne moved up to 680 from 725 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in TAPPS Division I District 1. A 28-13 win over the Falcons helped the Falcons improve their standing.
Prestonwood Christian extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Liberty Christian, 41-24. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Prestonwood Christian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mickey Mitchell threw for 95 and two touchdowns and Christian Morgan had 32 yards receiving. On the ground Mitchell chipped in 276 yards. Raleigh Beougher helped Prestonwood Christian's passing attack out by catching one ball for 18 yards.
Trinity Christian's Daniel Davidson and Nick Plumlee have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Davidson has thrown for 1413 yards this season, while Plumlee, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 35 catches for 449 yards. Grayson Warren from Chris Cunningham's team leads the league in rushing with 757 yards.
Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when Bishop Dunne and the Lions meet this week. Ken Davis's team features well-regarded senior Ishmael Wilson while Prestonwood Christian has Mike Mitchell, a sought after senior.
A big matchup in TAPPS Division I District 1 this week will be when the Falcons take on the Lions. As it stands, Bishop Dunne is in sixth, while Prestonwood Christian is in first.
Nolan Catholic was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. The Vikings vanquished John Paul II 43-14 earlier in the week.
