After three games on the road, Central is heading back home. They will take on the Classical Prep Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Thursday, Central was beaten by Nature Coast Tech 64-10. Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-9.
Despite the loss, Central had strong showings from Delanee Duncan, who scored 6 points along with 8 rebounds, and Amber Jack, who scored 3 points. Duncan scored a full 60% of Central's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Classical Prep beat Hernando Christian Academy 31-27 on Monday.
Central's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-3. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.7 points per game. As for Classical Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
