This season hasn't been kind to the Lakeland Regional Lancers, who are still winless after their fourth game. They took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westwood on Thursday. Lakeland Regional was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Westwood apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Loss or not, Lakeland Regional got some senior leadership from Tyler Lynn who scored 11 points along with three steals and Noah Pagan who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and three blocks. Pagan also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Ferreira, who scored three points along with three steals.
Lakeland Regional's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Westwood, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.
Lakeland Regional will finish 2023 at home by hosting Lodi at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Westwood will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Hawthorne at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
