The third road game was the charm for The Fort Lupton Bluedevils, as they earned their first road win of the season. They blew past Steamboat Springs, posting a 47-9 victory on the road. The result was nothing new for Fort Lupton, who have now won three contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Among those leading the charge was Royce Guerrero, who threw for 232 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Jesse Ceretto made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Fort Lupton's win bumped their record up to 4-4. As for Steamboat Springs, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Fort Lupton will be playing at home against Forge Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Forge Christian is ranked 121st, while Fort Lupton is ranked 138th). As for Steamboat Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Berthoud at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Berthoud knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Steamboat Springs likes a good challenge.
