The Niobrara County Tigers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Burns Broncs at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Niobrara County faced Lingle-Fort Laramie in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Niobrara County suffered a rough 67-46 defeat at the hands of Lingle-Fort Laramie. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Niobrara County has suffered against Lingle-Fort Laramie since January 17, 2020.
Meanwhile, Burns' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 12th straight loss. They were outmatched by Bridgeport on the road and fell 76-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Burns has suffered since December 15, 2023.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Mason Terry, who scored eight points along with four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Medley, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Burns struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Bridgeport pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.
Niobrara County has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season. As for Burns, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Niobrara County might still be hurting after the 77-57 loss they got from Burns when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Niobrara County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
