The Westran Hornets are taking a road trip to take on the Moberly Spartans at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Westran is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
Last Tuesday, Westran got the win against Paris/Faith Walk Academy by a conclusive 53-33. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marshall Kitchen, who went 7-for-14 en route to 15 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. That's the most points Kitchen has posted since back in November of 2024. Brody Kallmeyer was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.
Westran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Moberly fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Kirksville on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Spartans have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Westran will have to keep a close watch on Cameron Doubrava and Kish Jacobs, a pair of players who had a big impact on Moberly's prior game. Doubrava went 7-for-14 to rack up 20 points, while Jacobs scored 13 points and six assists. Doubrava is becoming a predictor of Moberly's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 3-1 (and 8-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Amar'E Hawkins, who put up four points and seven rebounds.
Moberly's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Westran, their victory bumped their record up to 19-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Westran has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Moberly struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.6 rebounds.
