Baseball Recap: Hoisington Has No Trouble Against Nickerson

Hoisington made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Nickerson, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cardinals blew past the Panthers 15-5 on Tuesday. That looming 15-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cardinals yet this season.

Rhen Galla was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brodie Crites, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. He also put up three RBI, which were his first of the season. Aiden Hekele was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Hoisington's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-3. As for Nickerson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hoisington will take on rival Hesston at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Nickerson is set to square off against their familiar foe Pratt on Thursday.
